![]() If you’re weary about highlighting and don’t want to over shimmer your face then go with something simple like one of Bare Minerals radiances. Now I know all it takes is the perfect shade with the right highlighter and you’re good to go!I’m not very picky with blush brands, for the most part blush is blush as long as it’s not a cheapie. I thought it was for older women and always felt a little too “done up” with it on. I used to steer clear of blush until I became a cosmetologist. It comes in a compact so it’s great for your purse and has two different tones for blending or switching from a day to night look! I’m also a huge fan of Estée Lauders Soft Duo Bronzer. I find that Bare Minerals Warmth has a lot of brown & red tones so use with caution! The others are very light and work wonders. Bronzer is tricky because it has different tones in it depending on what you choose. ![]() ![]() I currently use Bare Minerals “Faux Tan” as a bronzer but I also like “warmth” on some people. When I switched to mineral foundation I started getting a lot more compliments on my skin. The great thing about Bare Minerals is even if you’re a little off on color choice it’s still going to look great. It’s better for your skin than other types and it’s not as heavy. In that case… Cliniques Even Better Makeup is a great choice. There’s nothing comparable unless you don’t like mineral makeup. You could also just use an angled blush brush or squeeze a powder brush to make a more precise line and use that.I can’t help it! My ultimate is Bare Minerals Foundation. Makupforever sells a larger highlighting brush ($37). Its a bit more expensive, but it's definitely worth it. I use the Real Techniques Powder Brush ($10) and Ecotools has an excellent and very affordable Fan Brush (6.99).įor highlighting, go for the Sigma Tapered Highlighting Brush ($21). If you already have a powder brush, just use that! It's a bit neater, but definitely not necessary. A fan brush gives a much more precise line, which you'd then blend out with a powder brush or a kabuki. ![]() You can either use a fan brush or a powder brush for contouring. Not quite as nice as their high end counterparts, but it shaves $18 off the price, at only $8. Glamazon Bronze is warmed toned and Doll Face is cool toned. Hard Candy (sold at Walmart) also has pretty good dupes for the benefit highlighters. Studio Baked Blush in Pinktastic (It only has fleks of pink, despite its name.) can be used as a highlighter and its only $3. So if you can afford it, go for this so I can live vicariously through you! If you're looking for a much more affordable option, the e.l.f. $38! I have, however swatched it many, many times at Sephora and it is probably one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I want this product desperately, but have yet to test it, due to the price tag. Another high end option that is absolutely beautiful is Nars Albatross. High Beam is very cool toned, while Sun Beam is very warm. Great, albeit pricey, options are High Beam and Sun Beam from Benefit. Other options are the Sleek Contour Kit ($9.99) and the much raved about Nars Laguna ($38!) ![]() It can get a little messy, since its a loose powder but it really is amazing. A great high end bronzer is the Bare Minerals Faux Tan. It's not too dark, or too orange, and it's only $4.99. You're creating shadows, after all, so you don't want to much shimmer reflecting light.Ī good drugstore option is the Rimmel Natraul Bronzer. You'll need a bronzer, preferably a matte one.
